Hello, name is CosmykTheDolfyn and I just noticed that On A Roll is not only coming soon but also has a forum so I decided to check it out. Video gaming has always been a fairly big part of my life, as has blading. So to see both together is pretty fantastic. I am originally from the US but live in Ecuador where I work as an English teacher (however, I am actually visiting my parents right now back here in the States at the moment of typing this). Blading opportunities in Ecuador are few and far between, so maybe this game will help me feel better about having difficulties keeping up with that other love.
In gaming, I played competitive Smash bros at a low level for quite a few years and am also a speedrunner with a few world records in stupid games that nobody wants to challenge me in. Speedrunning is basically the concept of going as fast as possible through a video game to beat it as quickly as possible. This love of speedrunning has led me to have runs and be a behind the scenes volunteer at multiple GDQs (Games Done Quick, which have raised millions of dollars for The Prevent Cancer Foundation and Doctors Without Borders), RPG Limit Break (speedrunning marathon that only focuses on RPGs which has raised thousands for the National Alliance On Mental Illness) and setup my own speedrunning marathon in my home state of Ohio called Buckeye Speed Bash (we raised a little over $2,000 for 4PawsForAbility this year). I guess here are some of the speedruns I have done at events plus a documentary I appeared in on speedrunning.
When it comes to rollerblading, I started about 8-9 years ago. Never actually been the best at it, but it's where my heart is. Currently riding USD VIIs with Rollerblade solo cuffs (due to not wanting to pay for new cuffs when the actual USD ones broke), some old school Sifika Shifty liners, Xsjado straps (rollerblade cuffs had no power straps, made my own out of my old Xsjados) and some rockered Create Originals.
How's everyone else doing?
